Anthony McClaren is an AV-rated top-notch problem solver.  He has impeccable ethical standards and a hyper-focused, personalized approach to the relationships with his clients.  He absorbs his client’s problems, emotionally and spiritually, and makes those problems his own.

For his transportation practice, Mr. McClaren advises and counsels Shippers, Carriers, and Brokers on all aspects of regulatory compliance.  This includes understanding and dealing with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Compliance, Safety, and Accountability (CSA), Hours of Service (HOS) Issues, and importantly: the issues that impact the transportation industry as it relates to employment in California.  He has also litigated Cargo Claims, Casualty Claims, and Warehouse Liens and Rights.  He provides advice and counsel on transportation financing agreements, lease agreements, and service agreements in the industry.

For Mr. McClaren’s Labor and Employment practice, he has spent the entirety of his career learning and applying California labor and employment theories.  This includes representation in Federal and State Court, as well as in Administrative venues (primarily the Department of Industrial Relations), on all manner of issues- harassment, discrimination, and retaliation, as well as class action and PAGA wage and hour matters.  Mr. McClaren primarily represents management in defense of these claims, but can and does represent victims of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation when an injustice has occurred.

Mr. McClaren also handles what have been called “business divorces”- where former business partners no longer share the same vision or passion, and take action to dissolve the marriage of business.  These always include theories of breach of contract, misrepresentation, conversion (theft), trade secret disputes, and other legal theories.

Finally, Mr. McClaren has provided representation of nurses and doctors, as well as dentists and cosmetic service providers, when facing a disciplinary proceeding affecting their license and livelihood.

Mr. McClaren began his practice in Sacramento, California, servicing small business clients following his graduation from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He continued his practice in Sacramento, providing labor representation police officer and deputy sheriffs in the employment context. Mr. McClaren relocated to Los Angeles in 2010, where he continued his labor and employment practice with the well-established municipal defense firm of Burke, Williams, & Sorensen, LLP.  In May 2013, he opened his own law practice, The McClaren Law Firm, APC, which focused on representation of small businesses in employment and business litigation.  While operating his law firm, he developed his niche practice of representation of transportation clients. He then took the role of Labor and Employment counsel with ADLI Law Group, before embarking on his own partnership with Mr. Perleberg.

Mr. McClaren is an accomplished rock, ice, and high-altitude mountain climber.  He is one of only a small handful of people to have summited the highest mountain on every continent (known as the 7 Summits, including Mount Everest, Mount Denali, and Antarctica’s Vinson Massif), which he did solo and/or self-guided, with minimal to no support, in 2 years.  Mr. McClaren relocated to military posts throughout the world during his younger years, where he stopped to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Eastern New Mexico University in May of 2000, and thereafter his Juris Doctorate from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in May of 2003.  He prides himself on being able to empathize with his clients, and on his ability to be both an advocate and counselor through the crisis of a legal challenge.
